This is a heartfelt plea on behalf of four remarkable 11-year-old dogs who urgently need a new beginning.
Last month, these brave seniors were rescued from a dire situation in an abandoned house. With no electricity, running water, or proper shelter, they endured heartbreaking conditions. Each day, they were confined to enclosures filled with debris and overgrown weeds, and one dog was left huddling in a corner of the house, seeking refuge from the intense heat. Despite the kindness of neighbors who provided water, the dogs were often left without essential care.
When animal control arrived, these loyal dogs seemed willing to follow, as if grateful for the chance to escape their suffering. They are now safe but urgently need loving homes.
These dogs are all up-to-date with vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered.
They deserve the chance to experience the love and care they have been denied for so long.
We know shelters and rescues are at full capacity, but these senior dogs have already endured too much. If your organization can offer a foster home or adopt even one of these precious souls, it would be an incredible act of kindness.

Serena is the most gentle and loving Chi mix with an adorable underbite and eyes that plead to love her. Serena is currently residing at the Burlington County Animal Shelter. She is incredibly shy and timid when she first meets others but quickly becomes your shadow and best friend. She is so sweet that it’s impossible to believe she was abandoned in the streets in South Jersey. She loves to cuddle and bask in the sun. She also loves to hide under blankets at nap time. she is probably four years of age and weighs about 8lbs. She is pee pad trained. Serena loves her treats and already knows how to sit on command. She loves human affection in the form of belly and head scratches and will gaze at you forever with her beautiful eyes until you give in. She loves to go for walks, run around outside, and play with other dogs, but cats are an unknown. She truly is the perfect companion with so much love to give.

This long haired Lab is Kenai! He's a young 1 year old boy who was surrendered Kenai is silly, friendly and so much fun! We're still getting to know this precious boy but his previous owners informed us he's lived with kids and dogs in their home.
Kenai is so sweet! His personality is a little timid at first but soon he'll be eating out of your hand (literally). Our gentle boy is in need of a new home! You're welcome to come by the shelter to meet this handsome hunk and get to know him!

We were really hoping never to see our little Spark-man again, except for maybe in pictures, but Sparky is back, and he's looking for a fabulous home to grow old in. He is good with other dogs, prefers no cats. Sparky came to us in the summer of 2023 and was adopted in the fall. He was returned due to his owners becoming unable to keep up with him. Let's reserve judgement and focus on finding this scruffy, lovable, silly terrier the best home ever. He sure deserves it! Sparky is just 3 years old and he's not loving being back in a shelter, so the best thing is to get right back out into a good home where he either has a yard to romp and roam in, or he'll get plenty of walks and playtime to get some energy out. Sparky is a full of fun, spunk, and sweetness! He's active but he's well-behaved. Sparky walks well on a leash, he's smart and he listens well too. Sparky needs a cat-free home but he's good with other dogs. He can be just a little mouthy while playing so a home with no young kids is best. Please give our Sparky a chance!
